He aha te mea nui? He tangata. He tangata. He tangata.
What is the most important thing? It is people. It is people. It is people.

"There is a purpose to your life. You were born to fulfill that purpose in a way that no one else can. You bring to life talents, gifts and experiences like no other. Every experience is a key to your purpose, every talent a tool for your purpose. Each life a natural built-in reason for being. Purpose is the creative spirit of life moving through you from the inside out. It is the deep mysterious dimension in each soul, which carries with it a profound intuitive sense of personal identity."
The Keys of Jeshua, "The Soul's Purpose"

Once you can clearly understand the value of who you are you will truly appreciate your life."

Five Element Acupuncture

5elementslargerChinese medicine recognises that there is a vital force (called Chi energy) in the body which controls the working of every organ and system. This energy must flow freely and in the correct strength and quality if the body is to function correctly. With any stress or physical illness, the flow of vital energy is impaired. Acupuncture directly affects this energy at special points located on the energy pathways called meridians. When gently inserted into these acupuncture points, the needles produce various effects. According to the manipulation of the needles, energy can be drawn to a deficient organ, an excess dispersed, blockages removed, and so on, according to the individual need of the patient. As the balance and harmony of the vital energy is restored, symptoms of illness disappear. If all of the functions and organs of the body are working properly and harmoniously, there cannot be sickness within the body or mind.

Sometimes, points are heated with a special herb, called moxa, which resembles brown coloured wool. Usually, a tiny cone of moxa is placed on the skin over an acupuncture point, ignited, and removed when the heat is felt. Like needles, moxa revitalizes, reinforces, invigorates, and restores balance and harmony to the vital energy.

In Five Element acupuncture, health and overall well-being are evaluated by observing a patient's subtle facial colouring, sound of the voice, scent and emotional tendencies. Each element (fire, water, earth, wood and metal) embodies a different set of characteristics in humans, which makes these core features fundamental to constitutional diagnosis. The predominant element called the "Constitutional Factor" then becomes the sole focus of treatment in order to create mental, emotional and physical healing.

Five Element Acupuncturist

The acupuncturist is a Classical Acupuncturist specialising in Five Element Acupuncture.  Five Element Acupuncture works particularly well with the other treatments that we have at our retreat centre.  An appointment with the acupuncturist, particularly at the beginning of your retreat can help to clear energy blocks that may be present.   Recommendations for what kind of food is the most beneficial for you in relationship to how the five elements are working together in your own body may also be made and we can support you with them.

The acupuncturist will look for disharmony in the energy of your body through various ways including feeling the pulses related to the five elements.  They look for which of the Five Elements is weakest and how that affects you as a whole person.  They will look for how they can support your spirit through the choice of acupuncture points they use to help you move back into a better relationship with yourself and the world around you.
